Unable to make a chain component pattern with the right orientation

Hello, I'm struggling to get this basic chain link.
I can't figure out how to constrain the orientation and the face coincidence of the tongue part into the groove.
Either the tongue flip around so it is outside the groove or it doesn't fit into the groove (not centred).
I didn't used often such feature so I believed I'm doing something wrong.
The tongue is free of constraint
The groove is constrain to the front plane and to a concentric hole.
The path is constraint to the front plane
Any advice are welcome
Please find attached the SW2019 assembly in case it help to understand what I'm trying to achieve.

So I'm not entirely sure I got what you wanted correct from you description, but this is what I think you were looking for?

To get the part (Latte Ondule principe) to travel in the groove (Limon) properly, I created two planes, the first Symmetric between the two "Limons" and the second as a mid plan of the "Latte Ondule principe". I made these two planes coincident. I then selected the two points on the bottom of the "Latte Ondule principe" (sharp Corners) and used a Path mate to the internal surface of the groove. In order to get the full groove (the two straight lengths and the connecting curve), you need to use the selection manager (Button below the input box) to select all three.

I attached a word Document with photos of the process. I would send the Assembly, but I run 2020 and it would be a future version.
