Creating New Views in SOLIDWORKS
Today we are going to be showing you how to create a new view for showing different angles on a print. Sometimes you need to show an angle that is not a normal front, right top or asymmetric view. This is great for a 3D model and for drawings. The first thing you want to do is grab your part and rotate it around to a different angle.
-
Step 1:
Grab your part and rotate around to some different angle.
-
Step 2:
Hit the space bar on your keyboard.
-
Step 3:
Go to your View Orientation dialogue box.
-
Step 4:
Grab your new view and name it View 1.
-
Step 5:
Open a drawing template.
-
Step 6:
Go to View Palette on the task pane.
-
Step 7:
Click on the drop-down menu and open part.
-
Step 8:
Drag View 1 and drop it on your drawing template.
-
Step 9:
Then you can start using the new view you created.
