How to Save SketchUp Components

How to Save SketchUp Components

  1. Step 1:

When we can't create a component in a project, we usually look for that component on the internet. This method is considered more practical than we make it ourselves.

Even so, in the end we have to make a few modifications so that the downloaded component matches the needs of the project we are working on

Nowadays, it is very easy to find a place or site that provides 3D models for SketchUp, one of which is 3DWarehouse. This site can be considered as a repository of 3D models that store all kinds of components

To make it easier to find, save this component file in the installation folder. This folder will automatically display the components in the default SketchUp tray. How to? Please follow the tutorial below.

The first step, please copy all the component files that you downloaded, then go to the directory (C:) on your computer/laptop.

After that click the Program Files folder, then select SketchUp

Next click the Components folder, then put all your component files here, but first please create a new folder to separate each existing component.

Finally restart so that the file can be read by the system.

If after restarting the 3d component, the system gets an error and it is not readable by the system, then it is very likely that the Sketchup component file that you downloaded has a higher version than the Sketchup program you are using.

    good luck
