Inserting Configured Parts in SOLIDWORKS Assembly

Selecting and inserting configurations into SOLIDWORKS assemblies can be easily done. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the step by step.

  1. Step 1:

    Click on Insert Components > Add in your part > Configuration > Open and drop it onto screen.


    


  2. Step 2:

    If you forget to select it at the top, click on Insert Components > Open > Configuration > Select a configuration.

    


  3. Step 3:

    Go into File Explorer > Drag and drop file in> Select Configuration > OK

    


  4. Step 4:

    Once added in, you can click on any part with a left mouse click. Up above you will see Configuration and can choose a different one; select check mark and it will change configuration.


  5. Step 5:

    Click on the part



  6. Step 6:

    Go to Component Properties

    



  7. Step 7:

    Right-click Configure Component and choose the configuration you want.
