Project curve in SOLIDWORKS

How to use Project curve in SOLIDWORKS?

  1. Step 1:

If you are a beginner in SOLIDWORKS this could be really useful for you. What is Project curve, well it is a tool you are going to use to form 3D curves from two 2D curves from two different planes.I have drawn two curves here, one on Top,other on Front plane, those are spline lines if you are not familiar.

  2. Step 2:

You can find Project Curve on Features-->Curves-->Project Curve.

  3. Step 3:

Now here we are,the command is on,what we need to do is basically select the two curves we drew and it will form a 3D Curve based on the curves we selected.

  4. Step 4:

This is almost Front plane,I moved a view a little bit so you can see that our 3D Curve is the same like our sketch from front view,it looks the same.

This is Top view, now you can see what I am talking about.

  5. Step 5:

Try something by yourself by following this tutorial if you want so you will understand better :)
