Put your name as a sign in Catia on Parts
Sometimes in the manufacturing process we need to know the part information by an identification sign.
Here we explain to do so in the Catia V5 using Drafting as a mediate environment.

Step 1: Create/open a model
1) Open Catia software
2) Draw/Open your 3D model
3) Create a Drafting sheet by "Start --> Mechanical Design --> Drafting"
4) Write your text using Text function "Insert --> Annotations --> Text --> Text"
*note: If you can't see your text Zoom in "Ctrl+Scroll" and change Font size of text using properties "right click on text" or text properties toolbar.
5) Save as your drafting in ".dxf" format ("Save as Type").
*note: The ".dxf" format changes the text format to lines/arcs
6) Reopen your ".dxf" file in Catia, Copy the text, change windows, paste in sketcher.
7) Use Pad/Pocket/... to project your text on part.
*note: sometimes you have curves which you need define a plane/Extrude the text in Generative Shape Design. To project an extruded text on a curve, we can use Warp Surface and then try to Fill the lines.
