Tutorial - Creating multibodies using a split feature

Tutorial

1. Step 1:

   We have a part that we want to change into several parts.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Than we go to insert, features, split.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   On our left side a property manager appears
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Than we select the elements that will be used as a split tools. The face and a 2D sketch.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   In the preview we can see that we have 3 bodies.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   and here.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   In the property manager we check all 3 bodies.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   If we click OK we can see that we have created a multi bodies. We can see in the design manager tree under the folder solid bodies.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    If we edit this split feature and we click on auto assign names and we check copy custom properties to new parts.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    Than a small window appears asking you to browse to save these newly created parts
    

    

12. Step 12:

    This way you are putting in the same folder these new parts and you are giving them the names that you want
    

    

13. Step 13:

    When you open the folder you see your new parts created from one part.
