Tutorial: How to scribe a text on a surface in Autodesk Inventor.

1. Step 1:

   Invoke a sketch on a surface by right clicking on the surface and choosing "sketch"
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Click on text.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Fill the various parameters on the format dilog box.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Click on dimension.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Provide the dimension from the text box.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Provide the second dimension.
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Finish sketch.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Click on extrude.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Fill the parameters.Click ok.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    You can also "extrude cut" it.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    This is the result of extrude cut on the surface.
