Tutorial to model a fan blade in Catia V5

1. Step 1:

   Create the base on which the blades will be made.Create a point on the lower edge.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Similarly create a point on the upper edge at a certain lateral distance from the first point.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Create a 3d line between the points and choose support as the lateral face of the padded object.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Switch to GSD Workbench
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Extrude the line along zx plane
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Invoke a sketch on xy plane
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Sketch the shape of the blade and make the end coincident with the edge of the padded object.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Exit the sketch
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Extrude the sketch with reference as the xy plane
   

   

10. Step 10:

    Split out the unnecessary parts by using "split" command
    

    

11. Step 11:

    Hide the extruded part which is not necessary
    

    

12. Step 12:

    Switch to mechanical part design workbench
    

    

13. Step 13:

    Insert->surface based features->thick surface
    

    

14. Step 14:

    Provide some thickness. Click OK
    

    

15. Step 15:

    Tools->hide->all surfaces
    

    

16. Step 16:

    Click on circular pattern
    

    

17. Step 17:

    Fill with appropriate parameters
    

    

18. Step 18:

    After the pattern you will get the required object.
